Members of the National Trade Contractors Coalition of Canada (NTCCC) met with Federal Conservative MPs and Senators in Ottawa in November 2014 to kick start a federal Prompt Payment initiative, with Senator Donald Plett at the helm.  The follow-up to this saw NTCCC summarizing the day’s activities and asking the Hon. Joe Oliver, Minister of Finance, to mention Prompt Payment in his budget.  Now that the budget is being moved forward to April, 2015, CEC will be contacting all ECAs across the country to encourage their members to write to their PC MPs to request that Mr. Oliver mentions Prompt Payment in the budget.

We are confident that the Federal government will take the lead in ensuring that contractors and their sub-contractors receive payment for completed work within 30 days.
