PROMEX is a construction-focused workforce development program built for Ontario contractors. Developed and supported by three of the province’s leading industry associations, it was designed to strengthen project leadership capacity within contractor organizations — equipping professionals across electrical, mechanical, and civil trades to plan, coordinate, communicate, and lead more effectively.

Why PROMEX Exists — The Industry Need

Ontario’s construction industry is operating under sustained demand — tighter timelines, more complex coordination, greater delivery pressure. Technically strong professionals are being asked to lead projects without access to structured, construction-relevant development. PROMEX was built to address that gap directly.

Ontario’s Ministry of Labour recognized PROMEX as a model for how the construction sector can lead its own workforce development — and invested in making it available to contractors province-wide.

What PROMEX Covers

A 16-day program focused on the areas of project leadership and digital readiness that matter most in contractor environments — built around the capabilities that show up on live projects and the technologies shaping how construction will be delivered.

Twelve days are dedicated to core project management and leadership — covering the planning, coordination, communication, and decision-making skills that define effective project delivery in contractor settings. A further four days address the evolving role of technology in construction, introducing participants to digital collaboration tools, planning platforms, and AI applications that are reshaping how projects are managed and delivered. Together, the two components prepare professionals not just for the demands of today’s projects, but for where the industry is heading.
