SUMMARY:Change Order Pricing and Best Management Practices
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Dr. Awad Hanna\, PhD\, P.E.\, FASCE\, NAC\nBoldt Company Professor of Construction Engineering and Management\nProfessor and Chair of Construction Engineering and Management\nUniversity of Wisconsin-Madison \nFrequently\, change orders cause a significant disruption to a construction project. The disruptions cause changes in the planned schedule\, increase costs through rework\, and decrease labour efficiency for the contractor. Productivity and profit will suffer as a result of this loss in labour efficiency. Owners have the right to initiate project changes after the contract has been signed. The difficulty arising from change orders is determining an equitable adjustment for the parties involved. Contractors need to be compensated for the impact of the change-directed work on their estimated baseline efficiency. Owners believe that the additional costs of the changes should be minimal due to the similar nature of the work. \nThis seminar focuses on three key areas. First\, proper management of change orders involves establishing mechanisms to anticipate\, detect\, and address them as they arise on the project. Proper management attempts to preempt later disagreements. Second\, legal considerations involve prior case studies and acceptable theories of recovery. This seminar’s third and most important focus is quantifying the loss of labour efficiency and pricing change orders\, including forward pricing. \n📅 WHEN: November 4\, 2025 | 🕘 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM \n📍 WHERE: ECAO Office \n💵 COST: $799 with tax (includes materials\, parking\, meals) ; ($999 for non-members) \nNeed to Know: \n✔ Payment: Invoice or credit card (Visa/MC/Amex/Discover) \n✔ Cancellation: Full refund (4+ weeks)\, 50% (2-4 weeks)\, no refund (<10 days). SUMMARY:Project Management Transition to Senior Leadership
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Dr. Awad Hanna\, PhD\, P.E.\, FASCE\, NAC\nBoldt Company Professor of Construction Engineering and Management\nProfessor and Chair of Construction Engineering and Management\nUniversity of Wisconsin-Madison \nMany construction companies operate under the assumption that a successful project manager can be easily transitioned to senior leadership roles\, such as VP of Operations\, Chief Operating Officer\, and President. However\, the skill set and technical knowledge needed for senior leadership are different. This course will introduce project managers to the technical knowledge necessary to successfully perform their new duties and increase the likelihood of their success in their new leadership role. \n📅 WHEN: November 5\, 2025 | 🕘 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM \n📍 WHERE: ECAO Office \n💵 COST: $799 with tax (includes materials\, parking\, meals) ; ($999 for non-members) \nNeed to Know: \n✔ Payment: Invoice or credit card (Visa/MC/Amex/Discover) \n✔ Cancellation: Full refund (4+ weeks)\, 50% (2-4 weeks)\, no refund (<10 days).
