Why, When, and How to Conduct Workplace Investigations (Hybrid Course)

Handling workplace conflict, harassment, or bullying allegations can be challenging. This session will equip participants with the knowledge and confidence to properly respond to and investigate complaints while minimizing risk.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize situations that require a formal workplace investigation.
- Know when to bring in a 3rd party or external investigator.
- Follow practical steps to manage complaints and conduct investigations.
- Understand the Ministry of Labour’s recommended practices.
- Maintain confidentiality, gather facts, assess credibility, and prepare reports effectively.
- Identify the risks of mishandling or neglecting an investigation.
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and internal policies.
