Suderman Electrical Estimating Courses 1 & 2 are intense, hands-on courses designed to introduce the basic principles of Electrical Estimating and its applications. Building on the fundamentals covered in Course 1, this advanced two-day course delves into more complex electrical systems and estimating scenarios, including 600-amp distribution systems, panel boards, switchgear, bus ducts, motor control centers, and 5KV service entrances. The course also covers advanced topics such as change orders, unit pricing, and calculating hourly vehicle costs, with hands-on exercises to create comprehensive and competitive estimates for complex electrical projects.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Layout and Estimate for: 600-amp distribution; QMQB and CDP panel boards; 600V switchgear (remove and replace); Bus duct installations; Motor control centers, motor power, and control wiring; 5KV service entrance.
- Price, labour, and summarize: Listing of material, pricing and suppliers quotes; Labour units, extensions, Non-productive labour & cost; Job expenses and sub-contracts; Mark up, profit and job closing; Quotation example; Change orders and extras on jobsites; Hourly cost of a vehicle and hourly charge out rates; Unit pricing.
