Suderman Electrical Estimating Courses 1 & 2 are intense, hands-on courses designed to introduce the basic principles of Electrical Estimating and its applications.

Course 1 is a two-day course designed to provide participants with a solid foundation in electrical estimating. It covers the essential concepts, tools, and techniques required to create accurate and competitive estimates. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical exercises, participants will learn how to perform detailed takeoffs, organize estimates, and price materials and labour effectively. The course also explores the role of an estimator, the importance of understanding drawings and specifications, and the process of summarizing estimates to include markups, profit, and job expenses.

  3. How to layout and estimate for:
    • 110-volt receptacle outlets for an office
    • Lighting fixtures and switches for an office
    • Lighting and outlets for a plant
    • Distribution and feeders
    • 400-amp service entrance
  4. Price, labour, and summarize, including:
    • Apply labour units and extensions to calculate labour costs and adjust for non-productive labour
    • Summarize estimates by incorporating material pricing, labour costs, job expenses, markups, and profit
    • Develop sales techniques and understand the process of job closing
