October 29 @ 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
FreePresented by Muhammad Ahsan

As more women enter the skilled construction trades in Ontario, many report that issues of harassment still play an exceptionally large role in their productivity and their likelihood to remain in the industry. If contractors hope to address labour shortages, they must improve their handling of harassment issues. This in-person workshop, comprised of two evidence-informed modules (2.5 hours each) delivered back-to-back, provides an excellent opportunity to reinforce organizations’ commitment to safety, equity, and compliance.
In Module 1, Preventing and Addressing Gender-Based Harassment and Violence, attendees will learn to:
- Identify behaviours that constitute gender-based harassment and violence (GBHV)
- Recognize sector-specific examples of GBHV
- Understand everyone’s role in prevention and response
- Apply strategies to intervene safely and support affected colleagues
In Module 2, Responding to Gender-Based Violence in the Workplace, attendees will learn to:
- Understand their legal and leadership responsibilities
- Learn to manage reports, complaints, and retaliation effectively
- Apply investigative procedures and relevant policies
- Embed GBHV response into health, safety, and inclusion frameworks
