ECAO Education Committee

Having recently released the ECAO Learning Centre, we want to expand the educational programs, webinars, seminars, etc. for our members and their employees. To do this we feel a need for this Education Committee to provide us with guidance, suggestions, programs, or subject matter committee members feel are important, and to assess on an ongoing basis ECAO’s educational offerings. We are particularly interested in expressions of interest from members’ representatives involved in education. It is expected that this committee will meet quarterly.

If you are interested in joining this Committee, please reach out to Temoc at tvega@ecao.org.

ECAO COR Stakeholder Advisory Committee

In response to concerns regarding the COR program in Ontario, ECAO was instrumental in the formation of a COR Advisory Group which meets with IHSA and other stakeholders on a quarterly basis. To properly represent ECAO member interests, raise your concerns with COR, and suggest improvements/changes, we feel it is important to have an internal ECAO COR Stakeholder Advisory Committee.

We are looking for members’ representatives who are (i) active health and safety professionals, (ii) administer their companies’ COR programs, (iii) and/or are embarking on the process of becoming COR certified.

It is expected that this will be a relatively small committee (at least to start) with meetings occurring roughly quarterly. Further, we hope to have a good mix of contractor size and sectors. This committee will review the results of IHSA COR Stakeholder group meetings, provide advice and guidance for ECAO’s input at the IHSA COR Stakeholders Group meetings, and continuously review the Province’s COR program with suggestions for improvement.

If you are interested in joining this Committee, please reach out to Vincent at vduong@ecao.org.

ECAO International & Extra-Provincial Committee

It has become even more apparent since ECAO became a member of NECA that there are numerous and significant opportunities for our contractors outside the Province of Ontario and for joint ventures with extra-provincial contractors. And, while ECAO has been exploring a number of these opportunities, we believe our effectiveness can be enhanced with the regular input of our members. We are looking for guidance on factors such as (i) niche markets in which ECAO members are experts, (ii) sectors/types of work of greatest interest to ECAO members, (iii) requirements to work outside the Province of Ontario, and (iv) updates on opportunities.

We anticipate this committee will meet on a quarterly basis and we are looking for representatives interested in pursuing these opportunities.

If you are interested in joining this Committee, please reach out to Vincent at vduong@ecao.org.

ECAO Member Services Committee

Moving forward, ECAO would like to reinvigorate a committee that served to create a communication channel for our contractor members to provide feedback on the value-added benefits of membership with our association.

The Membership Services committee will require insights and feedback on the services ECAO provides alongside discussions of future opportunities that would continue to define and refine a robust and rich program. It is expected that this committee will meet quarterly.

If you are interested in joining this Committee, please reach out to Kamakshi at kahluwalia@ecao.org.
