Application Process – How it Works

The program operates on a reimbursement-based model:

  1. Apply: Submit your application by the deadlines (May 31, 2026 or October 31, 2026). You will be notified of your approval status within 30 days of the relevant adjudication completion date.
  2. Enroll: Register and pay for courses offered through ECAO’s Learning Centre and Certi-Fire.
  3. Complete: Finish your course between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026.
    • Note: If you’ve already paid for and completed courses, as long as they took place between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026, they are also eligible for reimbursement.
  4. Receive Credit: ECAO will verify course completion (via attendance records or certificate) and issue reimbursement within 60 days.

Applications are reviewed during two adjudication periods. All applications received by each deadline (May 31, 2026 or Oct 31, 2026) are assessed together using criteria including company size, total annual hours worked, and demonstrated financial need for training. You will be notified of your approval status within 30 days of the relevant adjudication completion date.

Reapplication Policy: Contractors may submit multiple applications throughout the program year, provided they have not exceeded the $1,500 maximum reimbursement limit. However, reapplications will be placed at the end of the processing queue to ensure fair access for first-time applicants.
